The Fairy Tale Moons Calendar for 2008 was designed to bring the cycle of the seasons and the wisdom of fairy tales imaginatively alive for both children and adults. Beautifully illustrated and oversized (11 x 15 inches), each month’s illustration presents an image that is at once a fairy tale story and a representation of the Moon and stars currently overhead.
Catch a ride on silver moonbeams and the Lucky Stars of Aquarius with February’s “Full Moon of Hidden Treasure.” Find the foundation stone of wisdom under Pleiades stars with the November “Moon of Wisdom.” This and more can be found in the delightful Fairy Tale Moons Calendar 2008, an interactive “Fairy Tale and Star Lore Calendar” for all ages, created by Mary Stewart Adams with design and illustration by Patricia DeLisa, illustrator of Little Red Riding Hood from Bell Pond Books.
Following on the indigenous tradition of naming the year’s Full Moons, this colorful calendar was created as a delightful once-upon-a-time journey through the year, stirring the imagination with fairy tales and moonlight by showing how traditional fairy tales contain elements of the prominent constellations found overhead each month.
Whether you want to tuck in with the fairy tale of the month or to outdoors to find the stars, this 2008 calendar will be a friendly, generous guide. This year’s calendar includes the dates when the prominent stars and constellations of the northern hemisphere come to their highest point in our skies.
Fairy Tale Moons Calendar nourishes a sense of wonder for the natural world and offers multiple opportunities for parent-child interaction. Resources for obtaining each complete fairy tale and simple star gazing are also included.

Mary Stewart Adams combines a degree in English Literature with more than twenty years of researching star wisdom to write, teach, and lecture about the night sky. In the early 1990s, and after a decade of independent research, Mary’s encounter with astrosopher Hazel Straker led her to an awakened understanding of the relationship between Anthroposophy, the star wisdom called astrosophy, and the archetypal stories of humanity, written both in the greatest literature of the ages and in the script of the starry cosmos overhead. Mary teaches at her local community college in Northern Michigan and through the teacher training program in southeast Michigan. She has written locally, nationally and internationally. Patricia DeLisa makes her home as an artist with her husband and three children on Long Island, New York, just a few miles from the vast beauty of the Atlantic Ocean. From this place in the world she also designs a line of infants’ and childrens’ clothing and operates a design business with her sister, using the rich arts inspired by anthroposophy to steward beauty into the world.
