Cosmic Christianity describes the relationship between the earthly and supra-earthly cosmic worlds by showing the relationship between the cosmos – as expressed in the movements of the stars – and the activities of Christ during his three years of ministry on Earth. The “gesture” of each astrological planet during those years is worked out and correlated with specific acts of the Christ as recorded in the Gospels.

The apparent “looping” movements of Mercury, for example, are connected with the “seven signs” of St. John’s gospel. The author goes on to explore the many ways in which these healing acts, which have been inscribed in the heavens, continue to work in evolution through the events of history and through our individual human lives. By studying this, we begin to understand our responsibility for developing the new Christian mysteries and, consequently, renewing the starry cosmos.

Sucher presents a real foundation for modern star wisdom. Topics include the evolution of cosmology; the origins of the planetary symbols; our new relationship to the stars as revealed in human lives and historical events; and the role of the Archangel Michael in our individual relationship to the stars.

This is an excellent place to begin one’s study of the stars and their meaning for both our individual lives and for the world.

Includes original diagrams by Willi Sucher.

About the Authors

Willi Sucher (1902-1985) encountered the work of Rudolf Steiner in 1919 at the age of seventeen. He devoted his life to anthroposophy, working closely with Dr. Elizabeth Vreede, a leader in the spiritual research of astronomy and mathematics in the Anthroposophical Society. Sucher devoted almost sixty years to developing the new “star wisdom” called astrosophy, which he considered most appropriate for modern humanity.

Hazel Straker has worked with Anthroposophy for many years, mostly in the education of people with special needs. She also made a special study of the indications of Rudolf Steiner, Elisabeth Vreede, and Willi Sucher concerning wisdom of the stars, or Astrosophy. She has lectured in many countries around the world.

Jonathan Hilton has been a trustee of the Astrosophy Research Center since 1992. He first met Willi Sucher in 1976 when a study group he belonged to in New York City joined another Los Angeles study group in Meadow Vista at Willi’s home for a weekend workshop. As a new student of the work of Rudolf Steiner at that time, Willi’s work added a new depth and dimension to Jonathan’s study of anthroposophy. Though he had no previous interest in or connection to astrology, he recognized the importance of this new star wisdom as developed by Willi Sucher and Elizabeth Vreede out of anthroposophy. He requested a private study with Willi Sucher and the following year returned to Meadow Vista to live at Willi’s home and study intensively with him for one month. In following years until Willi’s death in 1985, Jonathan had ongoing correspondence study with Willi and participated in other workshops with him in California and in New York City. For over twenty years, Jonathan worked with individuals on their birth asterograms. He has taught courses and given lectures on astrosophy at various locations, including the New York Branch of the Anthroposophical Society, where he served on the Council and as Branch President; at the New York Open Center; and at Sunbridge College in Spring Valley, where he worked in admissions and was part of the faculty. For many years he led an ongoing study group of astrosophy at his home in New York City. With his recent retirement from a very full time job as Executive Director of a trauma therapy organization in New York City, he now has time to ensure that this important work of Willi Sucher’s astrosophy becomes available to those who seek it.
